It's is with heavy hearts, that we, the family, announce the passing of Charlotte MacIsaac of Steele's Hill, Glace Bay on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Glace Bay, Charlotte was the daughter of the late Thomas and Victoria (Stewart) MacDonald.
She enjoyed playing darts with the Reserve Mines Pensioners Dart League and bowling with the Seniors Knox Bowling League. Charlotte cherished spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved gardening; it brought her both pleasure and peace of mind.
Charlotte is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Leland) Jessome, Beverly (Michael) Currie, Kathy (Richard) Spear and sons, John (Mary) MacIsaac, Greg (Karen) MacIsaac.
Also surviving are sisters, Theresa, Viola, Alice, Dora; a brother, Gus MacDonald; special nieces, Marilyn McInnis, Georgina MacDonald, Alice Shaubel; 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Charlotte was predeceased by her husband, Vincent MacIsaac in 1997; son, Gary; four sisters and three brothers.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. The funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday in St. Anthony's Church, Glace Bay with Fr. Norman MacPhee officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery.
All are invited to a reception in the parish hall.
As an expression of sympathy for Charlotte, memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Palliative Care Unit, Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
