HAWKINS, LOIS DIANE - Lois D. Hawkins of Fredericton, NB passed away May 3, 2011 at her home. Born in 1938 at Hawkins Corner, NB, she was a daughter of the late Loomis and Alma (Brown) Hawkins. Before her retirement, Lois had been employed with the Provincial Department of Health in Fredericton for 35 years. Her family and extended family were very important to her. Lois is survived by a sister, Charlotte Merrill, Stanley, NB and a brother, Edward Hawkins (Bonnie), Fredericton, NB; a brother-in-law, Arthur Merrill, Stanley, NB; an aunt, Phyllis Palmer, Fredericton, NB and an uncle, Allison Brown, Quebec; several cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents, Lois was predeceased by an infant sister Judith.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Allan Myshrall officiating. Interment in Hawkins Corner Cemetery. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Lois, the family has suggested the Hawkins Corner Cemetery or NB Heart and Stroke Foundation.
