DOUCETTE, Gerald J., age 90, Yarmouth passed away on Dec 29, 2018. Born in Springhaven, NS on March 13, 1928, he was a son to the late Alcide and Florence [Melanson]. Gerry, as he was known as, was a car enthusiast, who liked to visit local dealerships, test drive new models and talk all things car related. He was a retired carpenter who spent many hours watching his favorite teams, the Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tease family and friends. Gerry is survived by his wife, Yvonne; sons, Kevin [Wanda], Halifax; Brian [Kelly], Halifax, and Craig, Moncton; grandchildren, Holly, Jacob, Mark and Nicole ;4 great grandchildren; sisters, Lucille Muise and Bernadette Muise. Beside his parents, he was predeceased by first wife, Anne; sister, Jackie; brothers, Chip and Camille, and brother in law, Eli. Thank you to Linda, the Meadows nurses and staff, Dr Chandler and Dr Muise. Thanks to Yvonne and her children for their love and support. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A Memorial Service was held on Jan 2nd, at 2 PM from the Sweeny's Funeral Home Chapel, Yarmouth, Rev Alan Doucette officiated. Burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Friends of Gilles Boudreau Cancer Help Fund or Charity of Choice.
