Zane Sydney (McMichael) Lee

We regret to announce the passing of Zane Sydney McMichael Lee, on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Londesborough, Ont., he was the son of the late Sydney and Isabelle (McMichael) Lee.
Zane was born at home, in Londesborough Ontario. His first employment was with the Bank of Nova Scotia in Sarnia, Ontario. While spending some years as a lab technician for Polymer Corporation in Sarnia, he met and married Jeannine and started his lovely family. While still in Sarnia, Zane joined CIAG (Co-operator’s Insurance Agency Guelph, later re-named the Co-operators). Moving his family to Stratford, Guelph and Ottawa, Zane rose to the position of vice president before retirement. Through a friend at work, he met Sharon and married her in Cape Breton in 1995. Zane became deeply involved in Cape Breton and its people, working as a sales associate at a local Subaru dealer and a representative of the Better Business Bureau. He was deeply involved in charitable work, including the Social Research and Development Corporation, chairman of the Open-Door Homeless Charity and secretary-treasurer of Christ the King Anglican Church. Zane enjoyed fishing when he could work in the time.

Zane is survived by his son, Anzan Hoshin Roschi (nee Paul), Ottawa, Ont.; daughter, Nicole (Norm) Randell, Orangeville, Ont. and son, Zane Jr. (Jill), Saskatchewan; sister, Sharon (Leo) Wisnowski, London, Ont.; brother, Peter (Marlene), London, Ont.; grandchildren, Parker, Avery, Sawyer, Tyler (Alicia), Ashley (Jon) and Kylie; great-granddaughter, Ainsley; and the mother of his children, Jeannine Fontaine, Ste-Agathe, Quebec.
He was predeceased by his wife, Sharon (Green); sister, Mary (Hamilton); and brother, Paul.
A graveside service will take place at a later date in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Memorial donations may be made to the Cape Breton Cancer Centre, ALS Society of Canada, the An Cala Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital or a charity of one’s choice.
