It is with great sadness that we, the family of Priscilla Wojcik, announce her passing on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at Celtic Court, Sydney. Priscilla was a former resident of Lorne Street, Sydney.
Born January 18, 1926, in Glace Bay, Priscilla was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (McInnis) Rogers.
Priscilla graduated from the Business College in Sydney and worked as an office administrator. She volunteered many years as a brownie leader and was also an active member in the community. She was a devote member of St. Theresa’s Church, Sydney and St. Mary’s Polish Church, Whitney Pier.
Priscilla is survived by her daughters, Corrine (David) Morrison, Sydney, Pam (Richard) Fogarty, Cole Harbour and Wanda (the late Mark Williston), Cole Harbour; son, Ron (Liz), Hammonds Plains; daughter-in-law, Maggie (late David Wojcik), Hammonds Plains. She is also survived by her grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as Nana, Mark, Melissa, Dayna, Adam, Alanna, Greg, Victoria and Kyle; great-grandchildren, Landon, Reid, Mollie, Clara, Tyler, Mitchel, Leah and Lindsay; many nieces and nephews.
Priscilla was predeceased by her loving husband of 70 years, Walter, on September 26, 2018; eldest son, David and two sons, Bernard and Michael (in infancy). The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was also predeceased by her sisters, Dorothy, Bridget, Carmilla, Geraldine and Mary and brothers, Billy, Harold, Tommy and Angus.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel, 49 Welton St., Sydney on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 2 p.m., with Deacon Leo Penny officiating. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Polish Church, Whitney Pier or a charity of your choice.
