It is with great sadness the family announce the unexpected death of Gerard MacDonald of Saint John, N.B., which occurred at home June 1, 2011.
Devoted son of Mary (Cameron) MacDonald of Saint John and the late Alexander MacDonald. Gerard was born in Saint John, February of 1961.
Besides his loving mother, Mary; he is survived by brother, Lewis MacDonald (Lynn Berry) of Saint John and sister, Sheila MacDonald (Angus Maloney) of Port Hastings, N.S.; one nephew, Angus Hovey; several aunts, uncles and cousins of Cape Breton Island and friends.
Gerard was predeceased by his father, Alexander MacDonald.
In earlier years Gerard was a cook and worked in work camps out west. He loved nature and helping those in need.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd., Saint John (506-646-2424). By request there will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at a later date.
