We have lost a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Albert Norman Hussey Jr., passed away Monday, March 11, 2019, in the An Cala, palliative care unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Albert is survived by his wife of 56 years, Suzanne (Apblett); sons, Andrew, Bradley (Tina) and their children, Brandon and Nikki and Robert and his children, Robert, Emma and Michael; thoughtful daughter, Paula (Aldo) DeBartolo and their children, Daniel and Aliya; sister, Dianne DiLabio; and brother, Royden (Rhea) Burke.
He was predeceased by his parents, Norman and Florence Hussey; parents-in-law, John and Mildred Apblett; sisters, Frances (Darrell) Rushton and Carol (Hans) Weber; sister-in-law, Dale Mombourquette (Leo); brother-in-law, Ronald Apblett; nephew, Kirt Mombourquette (Amber).
Albert was a true friend to all and best friend for 61 years to Donald Bird (Joan). He was a lay reader at St. Alban’s Anglican Church, scout leader and Sunday school teacher for St. John’s Anglican Church, Mira Road.
A memorial service will be held at St. Alban’s Anglican Church, Whitney Pier on Saturday, March 16 at 2 p.m., with Archdeacon Brenda Drake officiating, assisted by Rev. Jackie Warren. Following the service, a luncheon will be served in the church hall.
Memorials may be made to St. Alban’s Anglican Church Memorial Fund, the Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital or a charity of your choice.
