COTTREAU, Barbara Estelle - age 83, Lower Wedgeport, Yarmouth Co., passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born July 20, 1935 in Pinkney's Point, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Évenie (Clairmont) Surette. Barbara was a homemaker and had also worked as a cook in the Tusket Islands for many years. Her passions were cooking and gardening. She is survived by two children, Dawn (Terry Morton) d'Entremont, Lower Wedgeport and Farrell (Marg) Higby, Yarmouth, as well as by grandchildren Julien, Chelsea and Allie d'Entremont and Farrell Higby Jr.; great-grandchildren, Layla d’Entremont and Nova d'Entremont. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Rubin Cottreau, as well as by a brother and numerous sisters. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A Liturgy of the Word will be held on Monday, April 15 at 2:00 p.m. from Saint Michel’s Catholic Church, Wedgeport, Rev. Albéni d’Entremont officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Gilles Boudreau and Friends Cancer Help Fund.
