Donna Alvada Maria CORMIER


We are saddened to announce the passing of Donna Alvada Maria Cormier age 83 of Amherst on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst. Born in River Hebert, she was the oldest daughter of the late Wilfred and Hilda (MacEachern) LeBlanc.
Donna worked at the Highland View Regional Hospital for 20 + years. She enjoyed her bingo with her late friend Dorothy and spending time in Shulie. She could be seen walking uptown. Donna will be remembered for her unique sense of humour. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and family. Donna will be missed by her children Bruce, James (Charlene), Doug (Tamara), Gail (Richard) Haines, Steve and Lorna (Ronnie) Davis;
grandchildren Mark, Adam, Alexis, Robyn, Amy, Justin, Christopher, Ashley, Emma, Spencer, Zach, Jacob, Ben, Eve, Luke, and Brady; 10 great grandchildren; siblings Marion (Reg) Daborn, Jimmy (Ruth), Fred, Helen Richard, Bernard (Carman), Wilma (Jim) Quinn, Paul (Cheryl), Iva Fowler and Perry; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by siblings Myrtle O’Brien, Lester and Douglas. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 11 am in Holy Family Parish with Deacon Howard Gotell Officiating. Interment will be held at a later date, in the Ragged Reef Cemetery, Joggins. Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St. Amherst, 902-667-9906. We the family wish to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. McCrossin, the palliative care team, nurses and staff at CRHCC for the wonderful care of our mother. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in Donna’s memory to the Kidney Foundation or to the charity of your choice.
