HARVEY, George Allister - 78, of New Minas, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2011 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Steam Mill, Kings County, he was a son of the late Barry and Margaret (Mahar) Harvey. He worked in farming and enjoyed gardening, puzzles and baseball. He is survived by his wife, the former Jane Brown; two daughters, Heather (Gerald) Fleming, Canning; Shelley Harvey (Reid Hewey), Kentville; three sons, Robert, Kentville; Ian, New Minas; Graham, Moncton, New Brunswick; two brothers, Jim (Berneda), New Minas; Maurice (Florence), Kentville; two sisters, Eleanor (Earl) Haggerty, Centreville; Joan (Lawrence) Arenburg, Steam Mill; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Leota O’Connell; four brothers, Clyde, Ken, Gordie and Robert. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. There was no visitation by request. A graveside service was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2011 in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County, Reverend Thelma McLeod officiating.
