It is with great sadness we mourn the loss of Vivian Jean (Howell) Tarr, of Sydney who passed on to be with her Saviour, at the An Cala Unit of the Regional Hospital on Sept. 6, 2011, after a brief illness.
Born in Whitney Pier in 1924, Vivian was the daughter of the late Eli and Lucy (Pynn) Howell.
She is survived by daughters, Lynette Bresowar (Donald Fraser), Audrey (Keith) Dollimount, Sydney, Nancy (Kevin) Johnson, Cambridge, Ont.; sons, David (Shannon) and Kenneth (Cheryl) of Sydney. She was also ‘Nanny’ to Stacey (Terry), Carrie, Amanda and Lindsay, Amy (Mark) and Tara (Preston), Hannah and Rebecca and Philip and James, and ‘Nanny Tarr’ to her special great-grandchildren, Georgia and Jude, Joshua and Molly, Mitchell, Daniel and Matthew who adored her. Vivian is also survived by her brother, Stanley James Howell (Audrey) of Sydney and brother-in-law, Ray Healey of Hamilton, Ont.
Besides her parents Vivian was also predeceased by her husband and best friend, Frank Tarr, in 1976 and brother, Ernest, and sister, Doris Healey, children James Franklyn and Elizabeth.
Mom tirelessly demonstrated her unwavering devotion and love to her family and to her faith.
Visitation will be held at the S.W. Chant Funeral Home on Thursday, Sept. 8 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be held at the Sydney Pentecostal Church, 20 Victoria Rd., Sydney at 2:30 p.m. Friday with Rev. Ron Coole and Pastor John Jensen officiating. Interment will be in Hardwood Hill Cemetery.
