At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, on Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, with the love and support of her family, of Esther Helen Wells of Huntley, age 82 years. Beloved wife of the late Johnny H. Wells, who predeceased her on Dec. 18, 2003. Born on Oct. 13, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Howard (Ted) and Emeline (nee Cannon) Costain. Loving mother to Elva O'Meara (deceased); Brenda (Pat) Doucette of Charlottetown; Kenny (Carmie) of Dutton, Ont.; David (Maria) of Alberton; Floyd (Debbie) of O'Leary; Donna (Kenneth) Poirier of St. Edwards; and Eldon of Huntley. Grandmother to Wendy and Barry Wells; Kelly (Derrick) Williams, Sandy and Amy Doucette, Tracey Richard, Jason and Gerald Wells, Susan Gallant, Neko and Megan Poirier and Edward Wells. Great-grandmother to Leo Williams, Sadie Gallant, Christopher and Riley Richard, Talia Richard, John Wells and Jacob Spurr. Dear sister to Ruth (late Perley) Shaw of Argyle Shore and Kenneth Costain of Woodstock, N.B. She was predeceased by a great-grandchild Marshall Richard in infancy and by sisters and brothers: Ben, Eldon, Howard, Cora Ramsay and Mildred Buote. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service on Monday, Dec. 19 from the funeral home at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Andrew Mortimer officiating.
