Liese was born April 26, 1933, in Schmachtenhagen, Ost Brandenburg, Germany, to Aduart (Adward) Schmidtke and Emma Choitz.
In 1956, Liese immigrated to Canada by ship on the Arosa Kulm #01. She spent a couple years in Lloydminster, met her future husband, Eckhardt and in 1958 moved to Dawson Creek where she raised her family.
Mumsy was full of goodness and was a loyal, dedicated, hardworking lady, who was respected and liked by all. We will take comfort and treasure the many loving memories we shared. We miss you Mumsy.
Liese is survived and greatly missed by her children Edda, Gordon (Tanya), Benny, Annette (Terry), along with her special grandson Kolten and numerous relatives in Germany.
She was predeceased by her husband, Eckhardt in January 2005 and treasured grandson, Kristopher in June 2010, along with her mother, Emma, father, Aduart and her siblings.
Liese passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2012 in Dawson Creek at the age of 78 years.
With respect to Liese’s wishes no formal funeral service will be held.
