POIRIER, Marion Pearl - 85 of Digby; It is with great sadness the family of the late Marion Poirier announce her passing on August 21, 2012 in Digby General Hospital, Digby. Born in Digby; she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Helen (Comeau) Ryan. Marion will be lovingly remembered as being kind hearted and generous to those she loved. She was an avid knitter and her family reflect fondly on the handmade hats, mittens, and scarves that she made with love for them every Christmas. Marion will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered, by sons Allistair (Debra) Poirier, Aylesford; Robert (Jaquline) Poirier, New Zealand; daughter Joan Gavel, Digby; grandchildren; Jenifer and Ryan Poirier; brother Gerald, Hamilton, ON; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Marion is predeceased by her husband Pete Poirier; son Peter; brothers Walter and Alfred; and sister Helen. Cremation has taken place. At Marion’s request there will be no service. Donations may be made to the Canadian Red Cross.
