BLACKIER, PHYLLIS - It is with sadness the family of Phyllis Blackier announces her death on December 28, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton. Born on May 27, 1923 in Rusagonis to the late William and Mahalia McSheffrey. Phyllis was 89. Phyllis worked as a custodian for the Burton Courthouse and Jail for many years, she was a member of the Catholic Women’s League and a faithful parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Parish. She is survived by her sons, Peter (Donna) and John (Kay); daughters, Evelyn (Joe) Simpson and Florine (Flo) Johnston; sister, Mary Holland; three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Including her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by her loving husband, Peter J. Blackier and brothers, Alex and John McSheffrey.
Visitation for Phyllis will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Sunday, December 30, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 11:00am with Rev. Ken Weir as celebrant.
