KENNEDY, PETER GRANT - 1948 - 2013 - Peter Grant Kennedy, Sr., died, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, January 1, 2013, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA. Born in Amherst, Nova Scotia, in 1948, and raised in Port Hope, Ontario and Saint John, New Brunswick, he moved to Louisiana over 35 years ago. He was a graduate of Saint John High School, the University of New Brunswick, and the University of Western Ontario School of Law. Grant worked tirelessly his entire life, not only as a small business owner, but also as a father and husband. Grant is survived by his wife of 41 years, Tanya Ann Kennedy. Together, they worked first as attorneys at their own firm in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and then as title abstractors in the petroleum industry in Louisiana. Since 1991, Grant, together with his family, owned and operated a chain of school uniform stores in the southeastern United States. Grant will be remembered by his family and friends for being incessantly positive, kind and charitable. In addition to his wife, Grant is survived by four children; Erinn Kennedy Shaw and her husband, James Shaw, Peter Grant Kennedy, Jr., and his wife, Emily Nicole Kennedy, Iain Leslie Cooper Kennedy and his wife, Elizabeth Kennedy Sanchez, and Cash Evan Martin Kennedy; two grandchildren, Lucia Jeanne Kennedy and Miles Thomas Kennedy; and two siblings, Geoffrey Louis Kennedy of Ottawa, and Joan Anna Kennedy of Edmonton. He is preceded in death by parents Thomas Fowler Kennedy and Joan Alda Kennedy; and a brother, Thomas Leslie Kennedy.
