HAKKERS, ARIE - After a long period of illness Arie H. B. Hakkers, husband of Florence (Jones-Dobbin) formerly of Longs Creek, NB, passed away at the Sussex Health Center on Thursday, January 10, 2013. Arie was born on December 20, 1922, one of five sons to Arie and Marigje Hakkers of Werkendam, Holland. He spent his earlier years in the Saint John area before moving to Longs Creek in 1974. Besides his loving wife, Florence, he is survived by one brother, Cess, of Holland, his stepsons and daughters Don Dobbin (Kathie) of Sussex, Wendy Beshara (Fred) of Rothesay, Tim Dobbin (Barb) of Belleisle, Peter Dobbin of Rothesay, Keith Dobbin (Sue) of Oromocto, Victoria Cassidy (Daniel) of Rothesay, several neices, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, Saint John. NB. As per Arie's wishes there will be no visitation or service. Interment will be at a later date.
