R. Allison “Bubber” MacAleese
MacAleese, R. Allison “Bubber” - 70 , of New Prospect, Cumberland County passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at home surrounded by his family. Born in New Prospect, he was a son of the late Robert and Lavinia (Fife) MacAleese. He was a retired forester and truck driver. More recently, he was a folk artist whose collection included an ironing board fence, swing, windmill, metal silhouettes and other unique items made from metal. He was a founding member of the Parrsboro Antique Auto Club. He is survived by his wife, the former Margo Chambers; daughters, Laura MacAleese (Warren Mitchell), Economy; Theressa MacAleese (Paul Landry), River Hebert; a son, Peter, Wainwright, Alta.; sisters, Roberta, Parrsboro; Muriel, Halifax; Myrna, Five Islands; Marion (and his “honorary brother”, Ed Ross), Dartmouth; brothers, Michael, Parrsboro; Wilson, Bedford; Allan, Bracebridge, Ont.; Kevin, Lower Sackville; grandchildren, Richard, Nathan, Thane, Drew and Cole; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Richard in 2006; infant sister, Mona; brothers, Robert and Wyman. Visitation 2-4, 6-8 p.m. today [Tuesday, June 4, 2013] at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro. Funeral 2 p.m. Wednesday [June 5, 2013] at St. George’s Anglican Church, Parrsboro, Rev. Tory Byrne officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.
