MANSFIELD, Michael – 50 of South Brookfield passed away peacefully June 18 2013 in Liverpool. Born in Liverpool, he was a son of the late Hanson and Sally (Frail) Mansfield. Michael is survived by his wife Cathy, South Brookfield; daughter Donna Eldridge, Ontario; sister, Ellen (Dougie) Robar, Westfield; grandchildren, Matthew Eldridge, Halifax; Justin and Breeanna Whiffin, both of Brampton Ont., and Kasey Eldridge, Bridgewater, nephew Jayden Robar, Westfield. Also surviving is his faithful companion “Jake”. Besides his parents Michael is predeceased by a son, Michael Eldridge. Michael was an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing, hunting with his friends. He was an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 87 in Caledonia, and enjoyed playing darts there. He enjoyed playing in the provincial dart tournaments, being there many times. Michael worked for Harry Freeman and Sons Lumber Mills until his passing. Prior to working at Freemans Mill, he was employed with N.F. Douglas Lumber in Caledonia. When Michael wasn’t playing darts, you could find him on one of the many baseball diamonds around Queens County, either playing or watching Michael enjoyed being outdoors, and around his friends. Other moments that Michael enjoyed were family gatherings. He always enjoyed seeing all the smiles on everyone’s faces. Michael was a member of the North Queens Volunteer Fire Department for the past several years. A celebration of Michael’s life was held on Saturday June 22, 2013 in the Westfield Baptist Church, Westfield with Pastor Vic Adams officiating. Burial followed in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Westfield.
