Passed peacefully away, in the loving arms of family, at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear, on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at the age of 77 years. Predeceased by his wife Shirley; sons: David and Dameion; parents: William and Kathleen; brothers: William, Kevin (late Alice O’Reilly) and Michael; sisters: Jean (late Pius Murphy) and Rosemary. Leaving to mourn sons: Daniel (Kathy), Don (Sharon), Darren (Wendy), Dean, and daughter Joanne (Cory); grandchildren: Cullen, Jocelyn, Justin, Arynne, Darcy, Brianna, Jonovan, and Shannon; sisters: Margaret (late Adrian Hickey), Gertie (Gervey), Shelagh (Clarence), Joni (John), Colleen (Ed). Also leaves a large number of nephews, nieces and extended family members and friends, all of whom were very special to Rudy. Special thank you to the Dr. K and staff of the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear; Dr. Stephanie Squibb, Dr. W. H. Newhook Community Health Centre, Whitbourne; All Care Home Support staff, Bay Roberts for years of care at his precious home in Markland, and to specialists - Drs. Falon Mauroon, Norman and Sidiqui at the Health Science Centre, St. John’s. A special thank you is extended to Father Mike Barker for special visits to Rudy and for being with the family during his passing. We thank Father John Peddle for visits to the nursing home, and Father F.J. Aylward for his visit to the funeral home and the funeral mass. A special mention to his loving and devoted sister Shelagh for her unwavering dedication, love, protection and care through the years. Resting at Holloway’s Funeral Home, Whitbourne on Thursday, July 18th. Funeral Mass to take place on Friday, July 19, 2013 at 1:00 pm from St. Alphonsus Church, Whitbourne.
