Peacefully at the Prince County Hospital on Tuesday, August 19, 2008, of Francis “Frank” Earl McAvinn, age 58 years. Beloved husband of Marilyn (nee McMurrer). Dear father of Jamie, Jeremy “Jay” (Juanita) and Rachel. Loving grandfather of Marissa and Noah McAvinn. Brother of Venie O’Connor, Joan McAvinn, Nay (Lynn) McAvinn, Cecil (Norma) McAvinn, Loretta (Vance) Molyneaux, Damien (Mary Ellen) McAvinn, Bernie MacDonald, Maxine (Clarence) McCarville and Murray (Ronnalee) McAvinn. Also survived by Uncle Ellsworth and Margaret Bassett, Aunt Hilda McAvinn, mother and father-in-law Melvin and Mary Dougay and sisters and brother-in-law Judy (Joey) Richards, Carl “Duke” (Pam) McMurrer, Elizabeth (Blair) Conway and Charlene Costain. Also remembered by special friend Lester MacLeod and family. Predeceased by his parents, Ollie and Margaret (Bassett) McAvinn, and brothers James William and Cecil Glenister. Resting at the Dawson Funeral Home, Crapaud, until Friday, August 22, then to St. Joseph’s Church, Kellys Cross, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday, August 21, from 2-4 and 7-9. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Prince County Hospital Palliative Care Unit or the Children’s Wish Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
