George McKiel

McKIEL, GEORGE, RSM - (1929 - 2013) - With great sadness, George McKiel, RSM passed away on Thursday, August 8 at 12:45 am at Toronto East General Hospital due to respiratory and heart complications. George, married 47 years to Claire McKiel (deceased) is a Canadian military veteran with the Royal Canadian Engineers. He is survived by sons David LeBlanc, CWO 38 Service Battalion, Canadian Armed Forces, Estevan, Saskatchewan; Dana McKiel, a Toronto TV sport commentator; Peter McKiel, a machinist/pro driver from Keswick, Ontario; daughters-in-law Janet LeBlanc and Brenda McKiel; grandchildren Richard LeBlanc and Sandra-Lee LeBlanc; great grandchild Sara-Lee LeBlanc; sisters Irma McPhail, and Doris Rogers; sister-in-law Nancy Gallagher; many nephews and nieces.
Cremation was immediately conducted after death by Scherrin Funeral Home of East Toronto in co-ordination with St. John's Norway Crematorium. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 11 am. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 152 Floyd Avenue, 8 blocks north of Danforth at Pape Avenue in East York as well as Royal Canadian Legion Branch 10 - Todmorden, 6 pm., Pape Avenue at O'Connor Drive, on the same day. Both services open to all friends, legion members and military personnel. The family would like to thank hospital doctors, nurses and social workers for their outstanding care in this time of bereavement. Lest We Forget
