LANG, Herbert Nathaniel Jr. “Herb”, 76, of Hantsport, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2013, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on September 12, 1937, in Malden, Massachusetts, USA, he was the son of the late Doris Elaine (Tanner) Moccia and Herbert Nathaniel Lang Sr. Herb was a longtime employee of the Avon Valley Greenhouses, Falmouth, where he was employed for 20 years, retiring to pursue his passion for gardening and travelling to NASCAR events. He also took this free time to spend with his family, especially with his grandchildren. He was past president of the West Hants Minor Hockey Association. Herb had also coached Minor Baseball and Hockey in West Hants and Hantsport. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, the former Linda Marie MacEachern; son, Scott Martin Lang and his wife, Kara Rachel (Hinxman) of Shilo, MB; grandson, Nathaniel William Lang and granddaughter, Sophia Julianna Lang; numerous relatives in Canada and the United States. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his step-mother, Anna Mary Lang; his sister, Elaine Foley. Arrangements are under the care of Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel, 194 King Street, Windsor (902-798-2232). A private family committal service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2013, in the Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport.
