Warren passed away Monday, January 6, 2014 at his home in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. Funeral Services were held Friday, January 10, 2014 at First United Church with Rev. Sharon Ferguson-Hood officiating. The family internment took place at the Shackleton Cemetery, Shackleton, Saskatchewan. Warren is survived by his sister Marion (Rob) Grodaes, two nephews: Douglas Grodaes (Sandra Milligen), Gregory Grodaes (Julie Pederson), two nieces: Barbara Grodaes (Doug Elniski), Elaine Grodaes (Jerry Mandryk), one great-nephew: John (Desirae) Grodaes, three great-nieces: Logan, Payton and Tristyn Grodaes, cousins: Ernest (Margo) Carlson, and Marilyn (George) Kinetski and family, four Aunts: Babs Schindel, Norma Price, Marg Blackmore, Joy Elves, and several cousins. He was predeceased by his mother, Grace Hadwen, November, 2013, his step-father, Harold Hadwen in 1993 and his father John Holland in 1971. Warren was the first son and second child born June 7, 1939 to John and Grace Holland in Abbey, Saskatchewan and raised on their homestead 10 miles north of Shackleton. He attended Maple Dale School to grade 3, Shackleton school to grade 11 and spent his 12th year in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, staying with his Aunt Alma, Uncle Harry Carlson and cousins, Ernest and Marilyn. He attended the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon graduating with an Arts, a Commerce and a finally a Law Degree in 1957. He had a law practice in the city of Swift Current up until his death. Warren loved to work and had many interests when work was not top of mind. His passion for both the city and farming community (school board, hospital board, the Rotary and the First United Church) will always be remembered. An innate sense of curiosity for the world inspired his taste for travel and he became a world explorer bringing home many memories and stories from different places around the globe. His quick wit and sense of humour touched us all. Warren was a good son, awesome brother, fantastic uncle and great uncle, and a super friend to everyone that knew him. He will be sadly missed and he is forever loved. It is very hard to say goodbye to Warren but we know that the love we have for him is locked in our hearts forever.
