Dale Patrick Davidson - 54, of Greenwich, Kings County, passed away suddenly Friday, May 2, 2014 at home. Born in Wolfville, he was a son of Donnie and Ferne (Fraser) Davidson, Gaspereau. He enjoyed driving, drove long-haul truck and had been employed with the Department of Highways for 23 years. For the past 11 years, he worked as Trades Manager for Sodexo at Acadia University. He was a sports enthusiast, winning many championships over the years and was named Nova Scotia's Top Bantam Defenseman for hockey. He also enjoyed softball, played on many teams in various leagues, winning many Provincial championships and had the opportunity of playing on the same team with his brothers, son and nephews. He also enjoyed hunting. Dale was a motorcycle enthusiast, especially Harley-Davidson and attended many blues festivals and bike rallies, including Laconia and the Wharf Rat Rally. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved his grandchildren. He is survived by his partner, Mary-Lyn Shields; a daughter, Lynlee Davidson (Michael Reid), Gaspereau; a son, Christopher Dale (Cara), Greenwich; their mother, Donna Davidson, Kentville; three granddaughters, Harper, Peyton and Callie, as well as unborn twin grandchildren; three brothers, Gregory (Joanne Whamond), Wolfville Ridge; Marshall (Dolly), Gaspereau; Blair, Forest Hill; nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to Biker's Down Society or the Canadian Glaucoma Society.
