Passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 5, 2015, in Maplestone Enhanced Care, Halifax, where she had been residing for the past three years.
Born in Sydney on Sept. 4, 1928, she was the daughter of Frank and Margaret (MacLean) MacKinnon.
Dot lived most of her life in Sydney and was a long term employee of Zellers. Later in life, she and her husband, Ed, moved to Halifax, where she has lived for many years.
Dot was predeceased by her parents, her first husband, Stephen MacKinnon and her second husband, Edward Plumridge, as well as sisters, Rita Veronica, Sister Florence MacKinnon (CND), Ethel MacDougall (Hector) and brothers, John Martin (Betty), Anthony (Mary), Raymond.
She is survived by her brother, Bernard (Joan) and sister-in-law Valerie MacKinnon as well as children, Jerry MacKinnon (Donna), Judy Nelles (Paul) and grandchildren, Shawn, Christopher, Stephen, Michelle, Matthew, Laura and several great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend our thanks to our "Maplestone Family" (including special friends Ken, Mary Ann and Kathleen) for all their love and support. Words can never express our appreciation.
Dot wished to be cremated and at her request, there will be no visitation or funeral. Interment will be in Dartmouth and a memorial service will be held at a later date in Ontario.
