Anna Waranycia, 87, a resident of Victoria Haven Nursing Home, Glace Bay, and formerly of Montreal, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015 at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Wasyl and Maria (Duliba) Bantush.
She was a former member of Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church, Whitney Pier. Anna was devoted to her family particularly her late husband Walter and her daughter Mary Ann of Dingwall.
She is survived by her daughter Mary Ann, Dingwall; sister Nellie (Ken) Barrett, Sydney and by several nieces and nephews.
Anna was predeceased by her husband Walter in 2011 and sisters Katie Aucoin and Mary Bennett.
Visitation for Mrs. Waranycia will take place on Saturday for one hour prior to the funeral service at 11 a.m. at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel with Rev. Albert Maroun officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney.
