DOUCETTE, Constance Reta, age 87 of Yarmouth passed away March 30, 2016 at Roseway Manor, Shelburne Co., N.S. Born in Yarmouth, N.S. on December 12, 1928 she was a daughter to the late Clarence Rice and Pearl Nardin. Constance was very family oriented and was a loving grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother who loved her family dearly. She was employed at Harris’s Quick and Tasty during her working years and enjoyed knitting and crocheting in her spare time. Constance had a love for the outdoors where she spent time in her flower garden and in the hot house. She cast a mean fishing line and enjoyed trout fishing with her husband in her retirement years. She is survived by her sons; John “Kenneth” Jr. (Linda) Doucette, Yarmouth; Joseph (Betty) Doucette, Yarmouth; daughter, Laurel Doucette, Kamloops B.C.; grandchildren, Cory, Mark, Todd, step grandson Gilbert; great grandchildren, Jessica, Lucas; step great-grandson, Lucas Brown; and 2 great-great grandchildren. Besides her parents Constance was predeceased by her husband, John “Kenneth” Sr; baby son, Kenneth Joseph ; sister, Ruby Goodwin; and brothers, Harold and George. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation took place Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 10-11 a.m. with a funeral at 11 a.m. all in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, Deacon Stephen Bourque officiated. Interment took place in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Lung Association; Family First Medical or Roseway Manor.
