Janet Elaine Kennedy passed away at her home in Ottawa, ON, after a brief illness. Janet was raised in Whitbourne, NL and was a graduate of the MUN School of Nursing. She was a natural caregiver who loved her friends and family, especially her little boy, who carries on his mother's kind and thoughtful spirit. Janet was predeceased by her father, Harry Kennedy. She leaves behind her mother, Wendy Kennedy, sisters Laura Ayre (Craig) and Mary Kennedy (Ron Young), husband David Pierce, son Ian Pierce, nephew Elliott Kennedy, niece Spenser Kennedy, in-laws Keith and Mary Pierce, sister-in-law Leslie Pierce (Shawn Maloney), and a large circle of family and friends in Ontario and Newfoundland who will miss her dearly. Visitation will be held at Holloway's Funeral Home in Whitbourne from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Saturday, April 16, and Sunday, April 17. Funeral to be held on Monday, April 18 at 2 pm at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church in Whitbourne. No flowers or donations, by request.
