Shirley Watters

WATTERS, SHIRLEY
Shirley Louise Watters of Grand Bay – Westfield passed away on June 17, 2016 at Carleton–Kirk Lodge Nursing Home. Born on November 24, 1917 in Farnham, QC, she was a daughter of the late Blanche (Clark) and Archibald Longtin.

Shirley was a graduate of Saint John High School. She retired from the Saint John Regional Hospital in 1982. She was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan and rarely missed a game. Another passion of hers was going to the family camp to fish and relax.

Shirley is survived by her son, Alan Watters (Aleta); grandsons, Robert (Tina) and Ryan; one niece, Sheryol Neill.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Arlington "Arnie" Watters and her sister, Evelyn Gamblin.

In keeping with Shirley’s wishes there will be no visitation or service. A small gathering of family and friends will be planned for a later date to celebrate her life.

At this time we would like to extend our heart felt thanks to the staff of Carleton Kirk Lodge who provided wonderful and compassionate care during her residence there.

Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, NB (634–7425).

For those who wish, remembrances can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
