It's with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our father George Winston Parsons, P.Eng. after a second, valiant battle with cancer. As quietly as he lived, he slipped away in the early hours of Saturday, November 19, 2016 to be finally reunited with his beloved Flossie. He is predeceased by his wife Florence, parents Harold James and Mary (Thompson) Parsons as well as siblings; Little Ruth, Betty Cowan, Gladys O'Rear, Marjorie Collins-Roberts, Doug Parsons, Robert Parsons and Harold Parsons. Left with broken hearts are his girls, Holly Noftall (Blair), and Meghan Hodych (Sam). His precious grandchildren Owen, Elise and baby Amy who affectionately called him Skipper, as well his family from his daughters' marriages, Barry Noftall (Linda deceased) and Dr. Joseph and Carolyn Hodych. Leaving to celebrate his life are his siblings, Tim (Betty) and Ruth as well as his sisters-in-law Hazel and Elsie and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Leaving to mourn his passing are Flossie's family: his father-in-law Gerald Wheeler (Margaret deceased), Licia Cantwell (Fred), Ian Wheeler (Sonya) and Patsy Bowman (Veral) and their families. A special thank you to Dr. Stephen Lee, Dr. Dawn Armstrong and all the staff and nurses at the Cancer Clinic for their exceptional care. At his request, cremation has taken place. Visitation will occur on Wednesday, November 23 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Barrett's Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Ave. Mount Pearl. Donations in his memory may be made to the Dr. H.
