The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside, P.E.I. on Saturday, April 29th, 2017 of Joseph Hubert Cormier of Summerside, aged 94 years. Joseph was born in Egmont Bay, P.E.I. to the late Benoit and Delina (nee Arsenault) Cormier. Beloved husband of the late Alma (nee Arsenault) Cormier and loving father of Doreen, Edward, Roma Arsenault (Lloyd), Earl (Brenda), Laura Cormier (Chisholm MacKinnon), Elvin (Tammy Allen), Lorne (Karen), Janet Fielding (Greg), Brian (Michelle James) and Roger (Kim). Also lovingly remembered by his 23 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, sisters-in-law Pauline and Lois and numerous nieces and nephews. Survived by his brother and sisters Irene Bernard, Zita Gallant, Imelda (Edmond) Arsenault, Toussaint (Yvonne), Ella Caissie, Marguerite Gallant and brother in-law Alyre Arsenault. Besides his parents and wife, Joseph was predeceased by his sons Norman, Clarence and Elmer, brothers Tilmon, Alyre, Antoine and Edmond, sisters Lucy and Corinne. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd. Summerside until Wednesday, May 3rd, then to St. Paul’s Church for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Joseph’s memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
