Gertrude "Gertie" Banks passed away quietly in her sleep in her 97th year at Munro Lodge on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 where she had resided for the past three years and has had wonderful care by all the staff there. She was also visited by our friend Joan Martin who managed to look after all her needs above the care that the home provided. She was predeceased by her first husband, Jim Watson and her second husband, Bob Banks; her daughter, Joan Diane and two sisters. She is survived by three children, Linda, Colleen and Gerald, nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter who all reside in Ontario. Following cremation, there will be a private interment. A reception will be held at Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. for all family and friends who wish to attend.
