Albert William Burditt, 86, of Truro, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2006, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in East Saint John, N.B., he was a son of the late Arthur and Lila (White) Burditt. Albert was an adherent of the United Church of Canada. He attended high school in Saint John, N.B., Acadia University where he received his B.Sc. and McGill University in 1946 where he received his B. Eng. (Mechanical). He worked 40 years in Canadian and United States pulp and paper industry having worked for Anglo Canadian Pulp and Paper Mills, Quebec as a plant engineer; Price Brothers, Kenoganie, Que. as an assistant mill manager and Rothesay Paper Corporation, East Saint John, N.B. as mill manager. He held a private flying licence from 1939 to 1986. He enjoyed stamp collecting. He is survived by his wife the former Janet Sorenson; son Gordon of Calgary, Alta.; daughter Sheila (James) Morrison of Halifax; brother George of Saint John, N.B.; sisters, Mrs. Doris Hoar and Dr. Anna Mary Burditt both of Riverview, N.B.; 11 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife the former Shirley MacKenzie. No visitation or service by family request. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Mattatall Funeral Home, Truro.
