Ronald Fulton Conrad, 74, Truro, passed away March 1, 2007 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Theophilus and Annie (McClellan) Conrad. He was a lifelong east ender. Ronald was a former Colchester Legion Stadium manager, Truro Recreation director and high sheriff of Colchester County. He was a former hockey coach with the Brookfield Elks and the Truro Junior Bearcats, a charter member and past president of the Nova Scotia Hockey Association. He was also a retired member of the Truro Fire Brigade, the Truro Club, the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26 and the Air Force Club. Ronald was an avid fisherman. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Faye (Rutherford); his children, Doug and wife, Michelle, David and wife, Barb, Karen and husband, Bruce Phillips, Peggy and husband, Terry Jewett, Ronna and husband, Luie Campolli, Colleen and husband, Dave Power, Derek and wife, Tammy; his brother, Frank Conrad; grandchildren, Taylor and Liam, Brenna and Janna, Alyssa, Julia and Joanna, Hailey and Victoria, Mark, Jaclyn, Maggie, Derek and Laura, Casey and Ryan, Sydney and Peyton. He was predeceased by brothers, Arthur, George, Robert; sisters, Margaret Norrie, Nina Davis, Lena Mann, Thea Conrad, Connie McConnell. Visitation will be held on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.; memorial service on Saturday at 10 a.m., both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro with Rev. Lori Ramsey officiating. Spring interment in Old Barns Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of your personal choice.
