Ronald James Coulter, 59, Grand Lake, passed away suddenly on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007 in Montreal, Que. Born in Colchester County, he is survived by his wife Kathleen (Kate), son Marc, at home; father-in-law Michael D. Campbell, East Bay; sisters-in-law Joan Campbell, Truro; Anne Louise (Frankie) Murray, Truro; brothers-in-law Gerard (Maureen) Campbell, Fredericton; Donald Campbell, Fort St. John's, B.C.; as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Toby grew up in Stewiacke East, attending school in Cloverdale, Upper Stewiacke, South Colchester High School and graduating from St. Mary's University with a Bachelor of Commerce. He was a Husky, thru and thru and was thrilled when his son attended his Alma Mater. An avid golfer, he was once a longtime member of Airlanes Golf Club and for the past number of years a member of the Brookfield Golf Club. You could find him every Friday evening in the winter months at the Grand Lake & Oakfield Community Hall playing darts, and on Saturday evening watching his mighty Leafs. Ron was a longtime supporter of minor sports, especially East Hants Minor Hockey, both as a coach and a league executive. He was also a member of the East Hants Gentleman's Oldtimer‚s hockey team for a number of years. Ron was employed by Guilfords Ltd. In Burnside for 29 years and recently employed by S. Norman Sancton & Son Ltd. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Ron's life will be will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Grand Lake & Oakfield Community Hall, 22 Lakeside Dr., Grand Lake. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the memorial funds set up for Jeff Smith and Trevor Ettinger for E.H. Minor Hockey.
