Francis "Frank" Joseph Arsenault 79, Bible Hill, passed away on Feb. 3, 2007 in the Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Freetown, P.E.I., he was a son of the late George and Angeline Arsenault. Frank was a veteran of the Second World War and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the North Nova Highlanders Regiment. He was a member of the Canadian Legion for 33 years. He spent several years being an advocate, helping many veterans receive pensions that were well overdue During his lifetime he owned and operated a nursing home in Stewiacke, but in recent years he was a home contractor building houses, and was a well known piano technician. He drove aschool bus locally, and also won a golden award for driving a million miles long-haul tractor trailer accident free. He loved to play the fiddle, and judged fiddling contests for a number of years in Antigonish. Music was a love for all his family. Frank was the type of person that if anyone needed help, they could depend on him to help them out of many difficulties. Frank was well known, especially in Truro and Westville areas. He had many family members in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. He was always willing to talk and laugh and build things to pass the time. His grandchildren were the love of his life; he always enjoyed being around them. Frank is survived by his wife Darlene (Richards); his daughter, Nichole (Ronald) Isaac, Truro; grandchildren, Angeline & Caleb; sister, Minnie Blaquier, Summerside, P.E.I. Besides his parents, Frank was predeceased by his brothers, Edward, Raymond, Thomas, Sylvester and Leo; sisters, Mable and Nora. Visitation will be held today from 7-9 p.m.; the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 26 will be holding a tribute service today at 7 p.m.; a funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 3 p.m. with Rev. Lori Ramsey officiating, all in Colchester Community Funeral Home. Interment will be held in Crossroads Cemetery, Valley in the spring. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Victorian Order of Nurses, or the Colchester Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated by the family.
