Donna Shirley (Loughead) Williams, 73, Beaverbrook, passed away Nov. 6, 2007 in the QEII Health Sciences Centre Infirmary Site after a valiant fight due to complications of pulmonary hypertension. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, at the time of her death she was surrounded by her family. Born on June 25, 1934 in Brantford, Ont., she was a daughter of the late Fern and Ken Harrington. Donna was employed by Loughead’s Heating Oils (Shell) for 45 years. She was known for her knitted baby sets, her unselfish heart and her love of the colour mauve. A devoted participant of the community, she was a member of the Old Barns United Church and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was the beloved wife of Robert Williams; loving mother of daughters Darlene (Harry) McCormick, Beaverbrook; Debbie (Sandy) Yuill, Lower Truro; son Kenny (Angela) Loughead, Truro. She is also survived by grandchildren Crystal (Greg) MacRae; Holly McCormick; Billy Yuill (Lee Ann Roach); Robbie Yuill; Jenny Yuill; Lisa Loughead; Brad Loughead; great-grandchildren Brooke and Madison McCormick; Harrison MacRae; Mason McCormick; step-daughters Debbie Williams, Halifax; Judy (Ed) Pine, Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.; step-sons Mike Williams, Sydney; Graeme (Laurie) Williams, Bracebridge, Ont.; Richard Williams, Dartmouth; Andrew Williams (Maria Lazzari), Bracebridge, Ont.; Christopher Williams, Dartmouth; step-grandchildren Jessica and Matthew Williams, Bracebridge, Ont.; Joleen and Shawn Williams, Sydney; Amanda and Brandon Williams, Dartmouth; Rachel, Heather and Jordan Pine, Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.; sister Pat (Graham) Loughead; brother Jack (Marcie) Harrington; half-sister Patty Attwood; aunt Muriel Harrington; several nieces and nephews. Donna was predeceased by her first husband Donald Robert Loughead; mother Fern and Nels Henry; father Ken and Molly Harrington; grandson William McCormick; brother Robert Harrington; nieces Heather Loughead and Lindsay Giddens; nephew Scott Harrington; aunt Shirley MacLennan. Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 9 from 7 to 9 p.m. in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. in the Old Barns United Church, Old Barns, with Rev. Dan Gunn officiating. Interment in the Old Barns Cemetery. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Old Barns United Church or the New Brunswick Pulmonary Hypertension Society.
