Gerald Kenneth Eisener, 79, passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 22, 2007 at Ocean View Manor, Eastern Passage. Born October 3, 1927, he was the eldest son of the late William and Pearl (Ritcey) Eisener. Gerald was well known in the Woodlawn area where he farmed for many years before owning Haldart International in Halifax. After retirement, he moved to Truro where he ran an antique business. Gerald and Evelyn returned home to Dartmouth two and a half years ago. Gerald is survived by children, Jane (Michael) McGill, Truro; Don (Joanne), Dartmouth; Nancy Eisener (Ashley Lohnes), Portuguese Cove; Peter, Maine; Heather Beauchamp, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Jennifer, Julie, Daniel, Nicholas, Michelle; great-grandchildren, Bailey, Justin and Tatum; brothers, Ronald (Verna), Douglas (Muriel), Harley (Eileen), all of Dartmouth; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, the former Evelyn Margaret Hanright. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, from where the funeral service was held 1p.m. Thursday. Interment at a later date in Woodlawn Cemetery.
