TRENTON - Gloria Jacqueline Christison, age 84, of 61 Strickland Ave., Trenton, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2007, at home. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Thurston and Harriet (Mason) Cooke. She was a former employee of H.R. Doane, T. Eaton and Co. and Cooke Transfer. She was a member of Saint Georges Anglican Church, New Glasgow, and a member of the former Saint Augustines Anglican Church, Trenton. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary New Glasgow and Trenton Fire Dept.; former member of the Housewives Bowling League and she was an avid card player. She is survived by her husband, James; daughters, Faye; Gail; both of Trenton; son: Craig (Lori), Trenton; sisters, Yvonne (Donald) Fraser, Sinclair's Island; Helen Barter, Red Deer, Alberta. She was predeceased by daughter, Fern; sisters, Elinor "Scottie" and Molly; brothers: Clyde, Donald, Joseph and George in infancy. Cremation has taken place. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, Trenton. Funeral service 2 p.m. Sunday in Saint Georges Anglican Church, New Glasgow, with Rev. Cathy Laskey and Rev. Bill White officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to Saint Georges Anglican Church or a charity of choice.
