Surrounded by loving family and friends, Gus Walsh, formerly of Little Harbour West, Placentia Bay, passed peacefully away on February 23, 2010, at the age of 57, after a courageous journey with cancer. A much loved and devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend, who lived every day to the fullest and who was and will always be an inspiration to all. Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Elizabeth, sister Monica and brother Ray. Leaving to mourn his loving wife and best friend Renee; cherished children Kyla, Kerri (Keith), Kurtis and Kolin; stepdaughters Melissa and Amanda; brothers and sisters: Jack (Catherine), Junior (Florence), Adrian, Loretta Lake (Din), Kathy Callahan (Mike), Betty O’Brien (Jim); sister-in-law Julia Walsh; a large circle of nieces and nephews; brothers and sisters-in-law: Patsy Porter (Dave), Lorne Kennedy, Wayne Kennedy (Bernadette), Eldred Kennedy (Effie), Lorraine Porter (Reg), Terrence Kennedy (Gail), Melvin Kennedy (Ella); special friends Bob Baker (Debbie) and Melvin Murphy (Shirley), as well as other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Essaji and the staff at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Centre and the Palliative Care Unit. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl from 10 a.m. - 12 noon, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. Funeral Mass to take place at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2010 from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
