Scott Macdonald

Passed on: February 24th, 2007

ALMA - Scott F. MacDonald, age 79, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2007, in the Aberdeen Hospital. Born in New Glasgow, he was the only child to the late T. Scott and Isabel (Flemming) MacDonald. He was predeceased by his wife Rose, in May 1977, and son Robert Brent "Bobby" in December 2003. He attended New Glasgow schools and graduated from the N.S. Agriculture College in 1948 and was a British American Oil Agent for several years in the Amherst area. After moving to Alma he farmed, sold farm machinery, and operated the White Rose Garage and later a small engine sales and repair business. His favourite times were spent on fishing trips with Rose and friends, hunting, family camping trips, picnics and summers at the cottage. He had a keen interest in guns, reloading shells, salting and smoking fish and shared his great knowledge with friends. Scott was an avid bird watcher who found enjoyment in recording the different species and their locations. Scott is survived by sons, Scott R. and Clinton MacDonald, Alma; daughter, Pamela MacDonald, Loch Broom; daughters-in-law, Sherry MacDonald, Stellarton and Marie McCullough, Alma. Grandchildren: Mark and Kelly MacLeod, Loch Broom; Scott M. (Sherry), Alma; Ashley, Stellarton; Ben (Samantha), Alma; Bobi, Alma; and Terry Brent, Edmonton, Alberta. Great-grandchildren: Emma, Alex and Luke, Loch Broom; Shayla and Jessica, Alma, and "expected" great-grandchildren to Ben and Samantha in April, and to Scott M. and Sherry in September. Cremation has taken place. There was no visitation or funeral at his request. A private interment will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens at a later date. Donations in Scott's memory may be made to the MS Society, Heart and Stroke Fund or a charity of choice. Scott was the best in all chapters of life-son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. We take comfort in knowing his long and patient wait is over... "Scott & Rose, always and forever"
