C. Roderick Macintosh

STELLARTON – C. Roderick MacIntosh, 84, of Claremont Ave., Stellarton, passed away Friday, December 19th, 2008, in the Aberdeen Hospital. Born in Foxbrook, Pictou County, he was the son of the late John A. and Isabel (Smith) MacIntosh. He worked for the CNR for 38 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of St. Columba Church, Hopewell, and Sharon St. John Church, Stellarton. He is survived by his wife, Lyla (Hubley) MacIntosh; two sons, Glenn (Angela) and Ian (Krista); grandchildren: Dylan, Ethan and Brooke, all of Stellarton; sisters, Margaret MacIntosh, Stellarton and Ethel (Leonard) Jardine, New Glasgow; sister-in-law, Muriel MacIntosh, Riverton; and sister-in-law, Etta Hirtle, Hopewell. He was predeceased by brothers: Elliot, Lloyd and Clarence. His remains will rest at H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton, with visitation Sunday, December 21st, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held Monday, December 22nd, at 2 p.m. from H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home. Family flowers only, at the request of the family. Donations may be made to the Palliative Care Department of the Aberdeen Hospital or the V.O.N. Society.
