ALVAH ARNOLD WALLACE

WALLACE, ALVAH ARNOLD 1912 - 2002 - On November 18, 2002, Alvah A. Wallace passed away peacefully at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Lower Hainesville, he was a son of the late Ernest and Della (Billings) Wallace. Alvah was 90 years old. Alvah is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dora (Jones) of Central Hainesville; a son, Clinton (Rowena) of Millville; a brother, Wendell (Muriel) of Douglas; a sister, Jean Belyea of Silverwood. Alvah is also survived by three grandchildren, Randy Wallace (Lisa), Rev. Kevin Wallace (Crystal) and Angela Mills (Jeff); seven great grandchildren, Rachelle and Chantal Wallace, Taylor, Brent and Kyle Wallace, Luke and Evan Mills and one niece, Nerene Hoben (William). He was predeceased by two sisters, Pearl Jones and infant Ada, brothers-in-law Hazen Jones and Malcolm Belyea and sisters-in-law, Beulah Wallace and Mary Wallace. Alvah farmed and worked in the woods in his younger years. Later he worked at G & T Woodworking and for 25 years at Crabbe Mountain Ski Hill. He was a founding member of Crabbe Mountain Winter Park. The past sixteen years, he and his wife have enjoyed their summer weekends at Micmac Trailer Park at Lake George. Visitation will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2002, Rev. Kevin Wallace will officiate. Interment will take place at the Central Hainesville Cemetery at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be Neal and Norma Fox, Willard and Shirley Fraser, Rick and Shirley Smith, Lyle and Mary Underhill, Eldon and Donna MacNeill, Burton and Lawrence Hoyt. Active pallbearers will be Chris Flemming, Gordon Hoyt, Owen Billings, Elwyn Billings, William Hoben and Fred Wallace. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Alvah, the family has suggested the Canadian Cancer Society, the Central Hainesville Cemetery or a charity of the donor's choice.
