M. DAVID BUTLER

BUTLER, M. DAVID, 1941 - 2003 Mr. Murray David Butler, of Sheriff Street, Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Sunday, August 17, 2003 at the age of 62. Born in Saint John, he was the son of Phyllis (Heckbert) and the late Raymond Butler. He was a retired teacher; a contributing journalist to many provincial and local papers as well as an avid sports enthusiast and was just recently nominated for induction into the Miramichi Sports Hall of Fame. He was a member of St. Michaels Parish and attended St. Michaels Basicila. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Phyllis Butler, of Miramichi; one daughter, Susan Butler; one son, John Butler (Victoria), all of Miramichi; one sister, Maureen Brown (Jack), of Bathurst; one brother, Don Butler (Penny), of Miramichi; one granddaughter, Megan Butler; as well as several nieces and nephews.. He was married to the former Margaret Neathway. He was predeceased by his father, Raymond in 1977; one son, David Joseph in 1966; two sisters, Catherine Anne and Marie Anne. Visiting will be from Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King Street, on Tuesday evening, from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Michaels Basicila, on Thursday, August 21, 2003 at 11 a.m. conducted by Father John Fraser. Interment will be in St. Michaels Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the N.B. Retired Teachers Scholarship Fund, or any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Adams Funeral Home Ltd, 140 King Street, Miramichi, telephone 773-3492.
