HOULA (HELEN) KHOURY
KHOURY, HOULA (HELEN) Houla (Helen) Khoury wife of the late Salim Khoury, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on December 16th, 2003. She had shown tremendous strength and spirit during her lengthy illness. She was born on August 15th, 1913 in Niha, Lebanon. In the spring of 1951, she and her husband, along with their nine children immigrated to Canada. They established their new home in Fredericton, where her parents had previously made their new home. Her love for Canada was as great as that of her native homeland. She was proud to be part of both. She will be remembered for her hard work, her sense of humor and dedication to her family. She always rose to the many challenges presented and she inspired her family with her courage and perseverance. She is survived by four daughters; Watfa El-Khoury (Youssef) and their children, Salem, Charlotte, Wady, Albert, Gaby Pierre and Yvonne; Sally Delmas (Francis) and their children, George, Andy, Mary, Jackie, Gisele and Peter; Sabina Keenan (Jim) and their children, Kouri and Megan; and daughter, Mary. Five sons Percy (Christine) and their children Danny, Sammy and Lisa; Thomas (Hoda) and their children, Susan, Jeffrey and Jason; Albert (Audrey) and their son Michael; Abraham and daughter, Sherri Cann; Charles (Maxine) and his children, Donny, Matthew, Jennifer and John. She is also survived by twentyseven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Salim Khoury; her son, Joseph; her parents, Marion and Abraham Sweed; brothers, George and Joseph and granddaughter, Sonya Khoury. Resting at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home where visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral mass will be held at St. Dunstan's Church on Friday, December 19th at 12:00 Noon. Monsignor Brian Sheehan as celebrant. Interment will take place in the Hermitage Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Association or to a charity of donor's choice. Pallbearers will be Wady El- Khoury, Danny Khoury, Mike Khoury, George Delmas, Joey Khoury, Donnie Khoury and Kouri Keenan.
