BIRD, ROLAND L. (ROLY) Suddenly at this home in Burlington, Ont. on Wednesday, January 7, 2004, Roly Bird, in his 74th year. Beloved husband of Ethel (nee Powys) Bird. Loving father of JoAnna and her husband Alan Good of Winnipeg, Tim of Amsterdam, Jeannie and her husband Gary Davies of Burlington and Chirs of Hamilton. Cherished grandfather of Jordan, Kyle, Jesse and Tim. Dear brother of Charlie and his wife Madeline of Prince George, B.C., Mildred Hanson of Burtt's Corner, N.B., Nelda and her husband Ronald Targett of Fredericton, N.B., Geraldine and her husband Winston, Mount of Brockville, Carlene and her husband John Tranquilla of Fredericton, N.B., and Gloria and her husband Bob Dickinson of Kirkland, Quebec. Predeceased by sister Daisy and brothers Donald and Gerald. Roly served as the Mayor of Burlington from 1979-1991. Memorial visitation was held at Smith's Funeral Home, 485 Brant Street (one block north of City Hall), Burlington (905-632-3333) on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service of Remembrance was be held at St. Luke's Anglican Church, 1371 Elgin St., Burlington on Monday, January 12, 2004 at 1 p.m. Cremation.
