GORDON THOMAS BREWER

BREWER, GORDON THOMAS (1930 - 2004) On July 18th, 2004 Gordon Brewer died quietly at his home on Lake George, NB. All who were witness to his struggle with lung disease were/are in awe of his determination, strong will and sense of humor throughout. Gord retired from the R. C. M. P. after 32 years of dedicated service at the rank of Staff Sergeant Major with most of his service being in Ontario. Gordon is survived by his two children, Cindy Kenney of Fredericton and Drs. John Brewer (Monica) of Rothesay, NB and five grandchildren, Gordon Kenney, Bradley Kenney, Michael Brewer, Laura Brewer and Peter Brewer. Gord is also survived by his two sisters, Mary Holme (Doug) of Richmond, BC and Helen Munro of Brampton, ON; sister-in-law, Annie Bessette of Algonac, Michigan, sisterin-law, Millie Johnston of Port Lambton, ON and brother-in-law, Cliff Johnston (Kelli) of Port Lambton, ON and many nieces and nephews. Gordon is predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Myrtle (Johnston) Brewer. "Thank you" does not even begin to express Gordon's and the families' gratitude to three very special ladies who selflessly went beyond with their care, kindness and friendship<$>. Lynn MacDonald, Jean Murphy and Karen Christie. Thank you also to some dear neighbors for all their help: John and Diana Myles, John and Ann Horsenell, Jack Patterson and Don Kneupple. To Dr. Plummer and his staff, we thank you for the excellent treatment of Gordon and of the family through this most difficult time. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 22nd, 2004 from 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the J. A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Friday, July 23rd, 2004 at 1:00 pm to celebrate Gordon's life. Burial will be held at the Fredericton Rural Cemetery following the service. A reception, open to all, will be held at Gordon's home at "Boulder Lodge" following the burial. For those who wish, memorial tributes made to the New Brunswick Lung Association would be appreciated.
