JEFFERSON, DR. JOHN CHALMERS After a courageous battle with Diabetes the death of Dr. John Chalmers Jefferson of Fredericton, NB occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Wednesday, August 4th, 2004. Born in Fredericton, NB he was the son of the late William Edward and Lillian Pearl (Chalmers) Jefferson and husband of Elisabeth (Meade) Jefferson. John was Chief of Radiology for 26 years at the Oromocto Public Hospital. He enjoyed reading, music, computers and sports. John was a devoted family man, spending time with his wife, children and grand children. He will be remembered for his large laugh, great sense of humor and for his compassion for his patients. Survived by his wife, Elisabeth "Liz", of Fredericton, NB; one son, Mark of Riverview, NB; three daughters, Linda Jefferson (Jim Arbuckle) of St. John's NL, Heather MacPherson (Leo) of Bedford, NS and Sandy Webster (Bruce) of Quispamsis, NB; six grandchildren, Colin and Devin Arbuckle, Jennifer and Alison MacPherson, Ben and Sarah Webster and several cousins. He was predeceased by his parents. Visitation will be held at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home on Sunday, August 8th, 2004 from 7- 9 pm. A memorial service will be held from Wilmot United Church on Monday, August 9th, 2004 at 11:00 am. Rev. Bob Jones will officiate. A private interment will be in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery Extension.
