PAUL M. YERXA

YERXA, PAUL M. The death of Paul Yerxa, husband of Aulda (Ludford) Yerxa, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on December 30th at the DVA Veterans Hospital in Fredericton, NB. Born in Houlton, ME, Paul was the son of the late Alexander and Helen (Clark) Yerxa of Keswick, NB. Paul is survived by his loving wife Aulda; two sons, Lorrie (Carol) of Lake George, NB, and Dale (Janet) of Harvey, NB; three daughters Joan (Malcolm) Freeborn of Riverview, NB, Catherine of Stanley, NB and Susan (Brian) Jewett of Red Deer, AB; two sisters, Marion (Clifford) Hepworth of Chateauguay, PQ, and Betty (Peter) Stom of Ottawa, ON; six grandchildren, Allison and Peter Yerxa, Matthew and Mark Freeborn, Alicia and Syrena Jewett; two cousins Eugene and Audrey Everett of Woodstock, NB; several nieces and nephews; and his very special companion, Zeus. Paul worked as a barber for thirty years as well as being employed with the Province of New Brunswick, and was a veteran of WWII. During his time with the Canadian Armed Forces, Paul served overseas in England, Scotland, Belgium, Holland and France. Paul was a very talented and well known musician and played piano in his Jazz band with great enthusiasm. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4, St. Mary's Anglican Church, Victoria Lodge IOOF #13, Imperial Rebekah Lodge #102, and Woolastook Encampment where he was always very generous with his musical talents when it came to charitable fundraisers or just entertaining. He was also a Scout and Cub Master. Memorial donations in Paul's memory may be made to St. Mary's Anglican Church and the Fredericton Emergency Shelter. A private service will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to River Valley Funeral Services, 50 Avonlea Court. 455-4267
